Our Little Man is 2 Months Old!

It is hard to believe that Eli is already 2 months old, but at the same time it is hard to remember life without him. I am not sure what we used to do with all of our free time. Eli is getting so big, and is starting to get rolls on his thighs. Tomorrow we go to the doctor for his 2 month appointment. Wish us luck that his shots go well, and that I survive.

Eli is starting to smile, and hold his head up on his own. He is also doing great sleeping at night, and has even slept through the night a few times! Last night he went to bed at 10:30 and slept until 7am! I am hoping this will continue since I have to go back to work in 3 weeks. My plan is to go back to work part-time 28 hours/week.

Little Houdini

So for the first 6 weeks, Eli has been sleeping upstairs in our bedroom in his Pack 'N Play. Last night I decided to try to have him sleep downstairs in his bedroom in the crib. Well, lets just say things did not go well, actually verging on horrible. I am hoping that things will improve, or I am going to be one tired lady. Apparently when Eli woke up this morning he no longer wanted to be swaddled. He seemed to have kicked out of the blanket, and almost out of his gown. This is how I found him...he was not very happy.

The First Month!

Eli is 5 weeks old today! It is so hard to believe that he has been here for 1 month now! I feel like we have learned so much, but know we have SO MUCH MORE to learn. Eli has gotten to do a lot of fun and exciting things in his first month. He has been to several of Uncle Evan's tennis matches, on play dates with his little friends Jenna and Drew, Niles to visit Mommy's coworkers, and to Daddy's football game! He also has perfect attendance at church, and has slept through the whole service each week. We went to the doctor last week, and Eli already weights 9lbs! Eli's biggest outing so far was to Big Long Lake to see Nana Deb and Papa Ron. He got to go for his first boat ride, and loved being outside at the lake!

As for me, I am learning to cope with little sleep, and accepting that the house is not always going to be clean. We are starting to develop a schedule during the day. The hard part for me is deciding if I should eat, shower, or sleep while Eli is napping. I have come to find out that it is a good day if I manage to get all three of these things done. I usually have to decide which of the three absolutely has to be done right now. My excitement for the week so far has been realizing that me being sick really complicates things, and means a lot less sleep.

Ryan and I are so excited about being parents! Eli is perfect, and so well behaved. We are so blessed!
